Getting married is one of the most exciting, if not the most exciting thing that you will ever do or have to happen in your life. But once you have proposed and she said yes, or you said yes when he proposed, after the initial euphoria calms down a little, you realise that there are a lot of things to do.

First, you need to plan a date for your wedding, and this may be partly because it is a date that suits you but can also be affected by other things. For instance, if you choose to have a specific date at some point a year or so ahead in a particular venue, the first thing that you need to then do is to find out if your chosen venue is available on that day. It might not be. And that means that either you change your date, or you have to find another venue. Already, things are not quite as straightforward as you might have hoped.

In fact, as you sit down and plan further, you realise that there is a very big list of things that need to be done when planning a wedding, and there will be times when you may have to compromise.

After planning the venue and date, there are still a lot of things to be done, one of which is the catering, but we will leave that for the moment. Another consideration that you need to get sorted out early on is a wedding photographer and in fact not just a wedding photographer, but two of them.

Now, this may have you wondering why you need two photographers, and why you need to make a decision early in the proceedings.

Well, the answer to the second question is that wedding photographers can get booked up way ahead. It is not unusual for them to have a booking 12 – 18 months ahead, and here the same thing applies as it does to your venue. If your chosen photographer is not available, then you are going to have to look elsewhere.

Why two photographers? Well, it is because when you have a large wedding with a lot of guests, one photographer cannot be in two places at once. So, if you have one photographer taking formal photographs of the bride and groom, the family, and so on, he or she cannot be elsewhere, and therefore you will miss out on all sorts of candid shots that a second photographer could be taking.

So, when Uncle Jack accidentally spills his glass of wine over Auntie Rosemary’s skirt you will most certainly hear about it but you won’t be able to look back down the years and actually see it. When you have two photographers, all these moments can be captured for posterity. Certainly, it may be a lasting source of embarrassment for Uncle Jack, but a constant source of amusement for everyone else.

Another thing that you need to arrange early on is your wedding venue decorations. Having chosen and booked your venue, you will want to ensure that it looks like a million dollars on the big day, so you need to spend some time considering the theme that you would like and go into some detail about the wedding stage, mandap, Mehndi stage if you are having a Mehndi, the table decorations, and so on.

At Kenza Creations we can produce a magnificent venue decoration plan for you, taking into account all your own ideas and the venue itself. Once you have all that arranged, it is one more big thing that you can cross off your list and have peace of mind that your wedding venue is going to amaze everyone: they will be talking about it for a very long time afterwards.
