When it comes to wedding decorations, it has to be said that there is no right or wrong way to decorate the space for your reception. At the end of the day, it is entirely down to you. It is your big day – the two of you – and so you can choose whatever you wish.
Of course, for some couples, trying to decide upon the décor can be not only time-consuming, but difficult. This is not because there are limited options, but quite the reverse. There are virtually no limits whatsoever.
You can begin by perhaps thinking of your favourite colours. This can make a good starting point because you can use a colour, or colours, to expand across all of the décor for the day. You can also choose a theme, and again there are many options. Some people go with the idea of a theme which matches the season – spring, summer, autumn (gold and bronze obviously), and winter.
Centrepieces
Once you have decided upon the overall colour scheme and theme, there are other things to take into consideration. One of these is the centrepieces on the tables at which you and your guests will spend quite a lot of time. Not only do you eat at the tables, but very often they are used after the meal for everyone to sit back and relax, have a few more drinks, chat, sit down after dancing if you are having a band, and more. This means that the wedding centrepieces will get a lot of attention, and so it is important to design something which goes with your overall theme. We can help you with this at Kenza Creations.
You can’t go wrong with beautiful flowers of course. Orchids, although expensive, are always a great idea. They come in a range of different colours, so you can pick ones which match your theme. But they have another big benefit, and that is that they go on flowering for weeks and weeks! That means that you can take some home with you, and you can also give them away to guests at the end of the day. Even after the flowers finally fade, they will send up another flower spike and start all over again!
If you want to keep expenses down, then it is always a good idea to use flowers that are in season. So, for instance, daffodils in Spring, geraniums or dahlias in summer, and so on. Book a meeting with us and let’s sit down and discuss your ideas.
