Planning your wedding can take a lot of time because there are just so many things that you need to consider. Who will be the best man, who will be the bridesmaids, where will you hold the reception?

Will you hold the reception outdoors if it is in the summer? If you do, and then it rains, how do you prepare for that? How many people will you invite to the wedding and reception? (Answer – if it is an Indian wedding – a lot!).

When it comes to the décor how are you going to arrange the room or the hall? Who will do the catering? Who will run the bar? Will you have a band? Or perhaps a DJ? How will the bride arrive? Does the car need to be decorated? It goes on.

There is also the way that you can lay out the tables at the reception. Do you want long lines that can hold 20 or 30 guests each? Do you want small tables of 4 or 6 people? Either way, what about the table decorations? The wedding table centrepieces?

Table decorations and centrepieces are a very important part of the overall “feel” of the reception. Remember that the guests will spend quite a lot of time at the table. Apart from just eating and drinking, and depending upon your needs, they may sit at the tables for the whole afternoon / evening / or whatever. Then again, if you are clearing the tables away after the meal to make space for dancing, that will change things.

If you have very large centrepieces these could obstruct people from talking to each other, no matter how splendid they look, if they come between them.

Flowers Are Always A Favourite

What sort of centrepieces do you want? Flowers are always a favourite choice, and of course the options are almost endless. Orchids look fabulous but can be expensive. Depending on your budget, you might want to opt for flowers that are in season in the UK. So, in the Spring, you might go for daffodils. Pretty cheap and they look great. Roses are always a great option.

Then again you could go for something totally different. You might have a lot of candles. You could use crystal vases. You might choose something that reflects the business of the bride or groom, or a sport such as pheasant shooting, golf, tennis, and so on.
